If you think I’m kidding about the title of this post- I am not. Seriously, someone beer me! Why is it that Tuesday’s seem to drag on and on and now that the weather is warming up and it’s beautiful outside, all I want to do is drink beer on the back porch. April is the month that my husband and I start our rounds on the beer festival scene and I’m a little too excited. Beer festivals are a great way to expand your brew pallet if you aren’t too adventurous when it comes to enjoying a cold one. Most festivals operate about the same in the sense that lots of vendors from all over the state/country come together and you sample what they have. And no, these aren’t full pint size beers you’re sampling, rather 2-3oz pours. It’s just enough to know if you like it or not and to make a mental or actual note for later! When I was in college, the only beer I thought existed had the word “lite” in it and wow, I was wrong. So, so wrong. I have my husband to thank for expanding my taste and with the rise of micro brews, it’s become easy to find new ones to try. Aaron and I, along with some friends, are visiting Death & Taxes Day and Sun King CANvitational this year. Both have had excellent turn-outs in past years and we’ve found that they have better vendors. Some others we’ve tried have been 450 North Corn Maze Beerfest and Columbus Craft Beerfest.
The Shop Indy hops tank I’m wearing now is one I picked up at the Columbus Craft Beefest last year. It’s just a fun tank to wear anytime in the summer and for a beer lover like myself, how could I resist? I added a Seams Lovely Bralette underneath to add bit of an edge and then ripped skinnies from The Gap Factory. I’ve picked up quite a few tees from local breweries as well as local businesses that support those breweries and when I see other people wearing them, I chuckle a little bit because there’s always some sort of head nod exchange like we’re in an unofficial beer fan club together. If you’re wanting to check out some shops that sell this type of merchandise, I suggest Silver in the City or United State of Indiana.
