Leopard is a Neutral

You heard that right, everyone! Leopard print is a NEUTRAL. I’ve been on a mission, for years, trying to convince my friends of this and today I’m going to share it with our readers, hoping to make you believers! I’ve invested in a couple of leopard staples, knowing that I can wear them with, pretty much, everything. You’ve probably also noticed Robin pairs her fav Claire V leopard clutch with many of her outfits…because it never looks bad!

Most tend to think of neutrals as nude or grey or even black and when you’re already wearing a print of some sort or a bright color, you might not necessarily think to add leopard print. Maybe you think it’s too loud? Or too busy? Eh. Not the case. Now, would I recommend wearing head to toe leopard? Def not, but leopard is a timeless print and is easily dressed from day into night. Heading out from the office after work to get some drinks with friends? Swap out your blazer or cardigan with a leopard kimono (like this one!)

I’ve styled two looks for you today, both of which are very different but my Treasure & Bond Chelsea Booties add interest, without being overpowering. Leopard print is also great because I don’t think of it as a “seasonal print”. I wear leopard all year round and have never felt out of place. Some patterns look really heavy or busy, like palm or tropical prints and you might not sport that in the dead of winter but leopard isn’t specific. Leopard also looks great on everyone and doesn’t discriminate based on size or shape.

A couple things to keep in mind…

If you don’t know where to start…. try swapping out a staple brown or black like your top or pair of shoes with a leopard one. Adding a leopard bag or other accessory like a scarf is also an easy place to start.

Add color! Black isn’t the only color that pairs well with leopard. Red and hot pink are favorites of mine but I have yet to be disappointed with any color I’ve worn with it.
