For the last 30 or so days, Robin and I have been using, almost solely, Monat products. Now, before you eye roll and exit away from this post, thinking I’m going to try and sell you some, don’t. I’m going to share with you my results, as of now, and what has and has not worked and from there, you can make your own decision on whether you are going to hop on this Monat train. Monat prides itself on new technology and naturally-based ingredients that isn’t going to add weight and more junk to your hair.
First up- The Renew Shampoo & Revitalize Conditioner. I only wash my hair about two times a week and with any new product, I thought it would take several weeks to start seeing results from shampooing and conditioning. With these two products, I could see a difference in my hair after 2 washes. TWO. I have very brittle and thin hair and have always suffered from easy breakage but after about two washes, I noticed a real difference in the feel and look of my hair. I very rarely use a flat iron to straighten my hair because my split ends have always been more obvious when my hair is straight but after using Monat I haven’t been as self-conscious and actually dug the straightener out from the depths of my cabinet.
Any cons for this combination? Product wise: no, I’ve been very happy with the combination but I leave the shampoo and conditioner on my hair for 2-3 minutes each so if you’re one that is in-and-out during the shower, you may have to slow it down to let the products do their job.
So, after the shower…I have been using the Air Dry Cream. Like I mentioned earlier, I’ve always had brittle and thinning hair so I also don’t put heat on my hair more than 2-3 times a week. The Air Dry Cream is designed to continue nourishing my hair without adding weight and grease. To use it is very simple…apply to wet hair out of the shower and go! When I first used this product and slept on my hair, wet, I woke up the next morning with it feeling very greasy and weighed down and thought WTF is happening?! I was not pleased. The next time I used it, I lessened the amount I put in my hair and only applied it to the ends and wow, the difference! My hair was not frizzy or flat and was ready to be styled. Because I only use a small amount of this cream, it will last quite a while and who doesn’t love saving money on hair products? The Air Dry Cream hasn’t been released yet but will be eventually and if you want an easy product to throw on after the shower, I highly recommend it!
Days I don’t wash my hair…I think a lot of ladies can join me in screaming DRY SHAMPOO! Dry shampoo is life. I’m just going to say it. Washing my hair is, obviously, a process so cutting it out entirely does wonders for my time management. There are tons of dry shampoos on the market and I’ve used several and to be honest, I’m not super picky so I don’t mind trying new ones if recommended. I judge the efficacy of a dry shampoo based on how it does on my hair on day 4 or 5 of not washing…those days where it’s just easy to put a hat on or not leave the house. The Champ Conditioning Dry Shampoo from Monat is another that I’ve liked! I would say that it’s better than your average drug-store brand dry shampoo because I don’t have to reapply throughout the day and it doesn’t weigh my hair down like some can. The directions say to leave it in for 1-2 minutes before brushing out and I would have agree because if not, a white residue remains and as a brunette, I can’t be having that! This dry shampoo also smells ahhhhmazing without being TOO over-the-top.
I have really enjoyed the last month of using all these products and if they truly are changing the health of my hair, I cannot wait to see what the next 30 and 60 days holds. I’m optimistic that the changes I’m seeing now are going to stick around and keep improving.
On another note, I’m OBSESSED with the Lovestitch Fringe Sweater from Minash and it’s still available in all sizes! It is so cozy and flattering and, of course, on trend for this fall and winter so you need to snag it while you can! The fit is perfect on its own but if you’re wanting to layer, I’d suggest sizing up!
A big thank-you to Allison Deckard from Michelle’s Renaissance Salon for sponsoring this post and recommending Monat! While this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own 🙂
Happy Monday and have a great week! Xoxo…Holly
